Sell 916 gold price Singapore

If you're selling 916 gold, the number you care about isn't the jewellery retail price. The practical question is: what will a buyer actually pay me for my 916 gold today? Start with the underlying 916 gold value, then compare real offers.

    How is 916 valued?

916 means approximately 91.6% gold. A simple reference calculation is weight × 0.916 × current pure-gold value per gram. That gives a rough estimate of the gold contained in the item.

Why might the buyer pay less?

The buyer may adjust for actual verified purity, payable weight, stones and non-gold parts, refining, market movement and buying margin. These are commercial transaction factors, not changes to the gold's chemistry.

    Don't compare retail jewellery rates

A jewellery shop's 916 selling rate tells you something about buying jewellery. It does not tell you what that business, or another buyer, will pay for used gold. SK Jewellery, for example, explicitly distinguishes its published retail selling prices from trade-in prices.

    Get more than one offer

Once you know the reference value, request comparable final quotes. Ask each buyer: assessed gold weight? Assessed purity? Rate applied? Deductions? Final payable amount? Then compare the final payable amounts.

    Trade-in vs cash sale

A jewellery trade-in can have different economics from selling gold for cash. Singapore's GST rules include an optional administrative concession for qualifying gold-jewellery trade-ins with non-GST-registered customers. That treatment is different from a cash sale of gold.
