How Gold.com.sg Compares Gold Dealers
Gold.com.sg is an independent reference for gold prices and dealer spreads in Singapore. This page explains how our comparisons work, where data comes from, and how we handle commercial relationships so you can trust what you see.
Where dealer prices come from
During the current phase, dealer prices are not displayed as live figures. Each dealer row shows "Request quote" and links to a WhatsApp conversation so you can obtain a current price directly. This is intentional: we do not publish dealer prices we cannot verify in real time.
When a dealer becomes a featured partner with a live data feed, their buy and sell prices appear in the comparison table and are updated automatically.
How frequently prices are updated
The reference gold price (SGD per ounce and per gram) is fetched from GoldAPI.io and cached server-side. On the free tier, the cache refreshes approximately twice daily. When the full feed is connected, pricing will update more frequently.
Dealer-specific pricing is currently on-request only. Featured dealers with live feeds will have their prices updated at the interval their data feed provides.
How spreads are calculated
Where both a sell price (what you pay to buy gold) and a buy-back price (what the dealer pays you when you sell) are available, the spread is calculated as:
Spread % = ((Sell Price − Buy-back Price) / Buy-back Price) × 100A smaller spread generally means less price movement is required before a round-trip purchase and sale reaches break-even, excluding other costs such as storage or insurance.
Which products are compared
The default comparison is based on 1 troy ounce of investment-grade gold (999.5+ purity). When featured dealers provide live feeds, additional product filters (1 oz, 50 g, 100 g, 1 kg) will be available.
How unavailable prices are handled
If a dealer's price is not available — either because we don't have a live feed or because the dealer doesn't publish public pricing — the table displays "Request quote" rather than a fabricated or estimated number. You can tap "Get price" to request a current quote via WhatsApp.
We never infer, estimate, or interpolate dealer prices. If we don't have verified data, we say so.
Whether dealers pay for inclusion
Basic inclusion in the dealer comparison table is free. Dealers do not need to pay to be listed.
Featured Dealer slots are commercial placements. Featured dealers receive live price feeds, logo placement, WhatsApp alert routing, and other services in exchange for a subscription fee. Featured placements are always visually distinguishable from organic listings — they carry a "Featured Dealer Position" label and a "Sponsored placement" tag.
What "featured dealer" means
A featured dealer is a paying partner who receives enhanced placement and services. This includes:
- Live price display in the comparison table
- Logo and branding in the featured row
- WhatsApp price alert routing to their team
- Inclusion in educational content where relevant
Featured placement does not mean we endorse the dealer or that their prices are better. It means they have a commercial relationship with Gold.com.sg.
Whether commercial relationships affect rankings
No. Featured dealers appear in a designated featured row at the top of the table. All other dealers are listed in alphabetical order. Commercial relationships do not influence the order of non-featured dealers or any editorial content.
How users can report incorrect information
If you spot incorrect pricing, outdated information, or any other error, please contact us. We take accuracy seriously and will investigate and correct verified errors promptly.
Gold.com.sg is a price reference and comparison platform, not a dealer. We do not sell gold, hold customer funds, or execute trades. All transactions happen directly between you and the dealer.
