Gold price history Singapore

Historical SGD gold chart coming soon

We're building a consistent historical SGD gold series with a documented USD/SGD conversion methodology. Historical charts require a single, comparable data source to remain trustworthy.

What does Singapore gold-price history show?

A Singapore gold-price chart combines more than one moving variable. The international gold market is commonly quoted in US dollars. Singapore buyers think in SGD. So the historical SGD price reflects both movement in international gold, and movement in USD/SGD. That means gold can move differently in Singapore-dollar terms from the chart you might see quoted in US dollars.

    Why does the currency matter?

Imagine international gold is unchanged. If SGD weakens against USD, the same USD gold price converts into more Singapore dollars. If SGD strengthens, the opposite can happen. This is why a Singapore gold-price history page should use an actual SGD series rather than simply reproduce a USD chart.

Is this what jewellery cost historically?

No. Historical reference data tells you how the underlying gold market moved. Jewellery prices can also include workmanship, retailer pricing, GST, design and other materials. Bullion products also carry premiums.

What does percentage change tell you?

It tells you how the selected reference series changed between two points. It does not automatically tell you what an investor earned. Actual returns depend on purchase premium, sale spread, transaction costs, storage costs where applicable, and exact entry and exit prices.

Does a rising historical chart mean gold will keep rising?

No. Historical prices describe what happened; they do not tell us what happens next. This page is a measurement tool, not a forecasting page. See what factors affect gold price for context.
