Maxi-Cash — Pawn, Sell Gold & Jewellery
Maxi-Cash is a Singapore pawn and resale group offering pawnbroking, jewellery retail, gold-buying and pre-loved luxury resale. Gold independently explains its distinct transaction models so you can understand the difference between a pawn loan, an outright sale and a jewellery retail purchase.
Entity facts
Pawn vs sell — what's the difference?
Maxi-Cash operates distinct transaction models. The most important distinction: a pawn loan is not an outright sale, and neither is the same as a jewellery retail purchase.
Pawn
A pawn loan does not transfer ownership unless the item is forfeited. The loan value is not a sale price.
Sell (outright)
An outright sale transfers ownership immediately. The offer can differ from a pawn loan value for the same item.
Buy / resale
Buying from a pawn/resale retailer is a retail purchase, not a buy-back of your own gold.
Singapore pawnbroking rules
Under Singapore's Pawnbrokers Act, the pawnbroker's profit on a pawn loan is capped at 1.5% of the loan amount per month. The normal redemption period is within six months, subject to the pawn ticket and possible agreed extension. A pawn loan does not transfer ownership unless the item is forfeited.
What can Maxi-Cash assess?
Verified services & capabilities
Selling gold to Maxi-Cash
Maxi-Cash operates an outright sale service where you can sell gold for immediate payment. An outright sale transfers ownership immediately. The final offer should be confirmed directly with Maxi-Cash.
Pawning gold at Maxi-Cash
Maxi-Cash offers pawnbroking. You bring your item and identification for appraisal, receive a loan secured against the item, then redeem or renew within the applicable six-month arrangement. The pawn loan value is not the same as the gold's underlying reference value.
Buying jewellery / gold products
Maxi-Cash retails jewellery. Buying from its retail inventory is a retail purchase, not a buy-back of your own gold. Maxi-Cash publishes retail 916 and 999 gold rates. These are jewellery retail selling rates, not pawn loan values or buy-back rates.
How valuation works
A pawn or sale valuation reflects the provider's assessment of gold content, condition, resale potential and its own lending or buying policy. It is not a simple mathematical gold-content value. The underlying gold reference value is a useful benchmark before requesting a quote, but it is not a guaranteed offer.
How does Maxi-Cash compare?
Gold does not rank pawn/resale providers as "best" or "cheapest." Compare the final payable amount for the same item at approximately the same time. Pawn loan values, outright sale offers and retail prices are different transaction types and should not be mixed in a single comparison.
MoneyMax
Pawn and resale group offering pawn loans, outright sale of valuables, jewellery retail and gold-buying services.
ValueMax
Pawn and resale group offering pawn loans, jewellery and gold-buying services.

Can I pawn gold at Maxi-Cash?

Yes. Maxi-Cash operates a 'Sell to Us' service for outright sale of gold and jewellery. An outright sale transfers ownership immediately and the offer can differ from a pawn loan value for the same item. The final offer should be confirmed directly with Maxi-Cash.
What is the difference between pawning and selling at Maxi-Cash?
Pawning gives you a loan secured against your item, with the option to redeem it within the redemption period by repaying the loan plus interest. Selling transfers ownership immediately for a cash payment. The loan value and the sale offer can differ because they reflect different commercial economics.
Does Maxi-Cash sell jewellery and gold?

How is a Maxi-Cash pawn valuation different from the gold reference value?
A pawn valuation reflects the collateral value Maxi-Cash is willing to lend against the item, not the underlying gold-content value. The underlying gold reference value is a benchmark, not a pawn loan quote.
Does Maxi-Cash publish gold rates?
Maxi-Cash publishes retail 916 and 999 gold rates. These are jewellery retail selling rates, not pawn loan values or outright buy-back rates. Do not infer a buy-back rate from the retail rate.
